Ok, one last post before the event, a brief wrap up of the BFS guys attending the Conflict GT, their hopes and dream- in no particular order…
Jawaballs is up first, the man, the legend, it’s hard being a Blood Angel player living under his shadow. I’m sure that JB is setting his focus on going for best painted/best army appearance and even with his skills we know this is going to be tough to pull off. I suspect the paint competition is going to be even fiercer then the actual battles. His list will have land raiders, terminators, and of course the man in red himself- Mepheston. I’m counting on JB’s skillful use of the M man to punch forward in our doubles game.
Ultrabob is next with his newly reborn Necron- which is the red dynasty again? Last time these guys competed in a tournament was the Games Workshop Baltimore GT back in 2007. Of course they are a completely different army now. I’m amazed at all the bots crammed into Bob’s list- you really can get a lot in when you don’t have a C’Tan sucking up points. I’m interested to see how his AV 13 wall does.
Ed’s next of course, and I don’t mean to take anything away from the rest of the guys in the group, but I think he has the best list and preparation out of all of us- ice Grey Knights, primed and ready to go. Ed’s been practicing with them for a while and has his stuff down. Razorbacks, dreads, and henchmen/’knights.
Brother Captain James also snuck in at the last moment, and his going with Tyranids which are back under his command. I was hoping he was going to run my five tervigon list since he now has them and close to a hundred gaunts, but he is going with a mix of tervigons, gaunts, stealers, and trygons- backed by three groups of venomthropes to give everybody cover saves no matter where they are on the table. An interesting approach, and there is something to having even your ‘stealers get a 5+ save on the way in.
Death Guard and Necrons for me as mentioned- I finished up my Necron display board last night so I’m all set to go- actually finishing all my last minute stuff early- more time for Space Marine on Xbox!
