More Kill Team games- how far can we go?

Should vehicles be allowed?

Next game was dread vs. dread and a speeder. Since Grey Knight dreads are heavy, all I could take is a venerable with psybolt, and assault cannon, which is even better and more OP.




James gave his speeder stealth so first turn when it turbo boosted it had a 2+ cover save- which I shot and then assaulted and did nothing of course. This drew me out, exposing me to his dreads multi-melta which I gambled on being venerable.



Speeder zips behind me, shoots, and stuns, I turn around and blow off the missiles, and then assault the dread duking it out destroying it before getting immobilized from rear armor heavy bolter fire from the speeder.



And then what?

I can’t move or shoot James’ speeder, and all he can really do is glace/pen me barely and then I’m venerable, etc. We rolled some dice for a few rounds, and then called it for the win for James- maybe in ten minutes or so he would have blown me up.



Mid range vehicles really tend to make the game one sided- if James put down a dread and I was limited to infantry all I really have is a psycannon to destroy it, and when that model goes down I’m dead. Maybe rear armor with storm bolter psybolts?
