Conflcit GT- You In?

It’s that time of year again, and the Conflict GT is almost here- time to make those plans with the gaming club or the Ms. to clear the weekend and attend. Once again held in the Palisades Mall (an excellent place), the Conflict GT is expanding with an offering of Friday night doubles events, in addition to the main 40K and fantasy events on Saturday. This is one of the yearly “must play in” events in the NE USA.

For me, the past two years have been an Eldar dominated event with my Saim-Hann taking 4th place in 2010, and my Harlequins finishing 34th in 2011…no that isn’t a typo- 34- I really dropped the ball big time and screwed up, not as bad as one particular tournament where I brought my old Necrons, but definitely up there in some major crushing Fritz defeat moments…but you know what- I still had a blast at the event even with the losses- that is how well it was run and the awesomeness of the guys playing in it.

This year it is going to be Necrons….HELL YEA! I’m locked and ready to go, a few more minor tweaks (with posts coming up over the next few weeks) and this will be the first full event that I’m throwing my ‘crons down at. I should also say, this is an entirely “new” Necron army- not just my old codex army updated or a few units thrown in- it is built from the ground up with the stuff I like and the tricks I want to pull off…at least in theory, we’ll see how it goes.

And then there is the Friday night doubles event, and something that has been a long time coming, a reunion of sorts, Fritz & Jawaballs back on the table, fighting side by side, or should I say the Blood Angels dying in droves so the fickle Eldar can swoop in an take the mission objectives. What does it matter how many mon-kei die so as to not spill a drop of Eldar blood?

The question here is this- do we go with our tried and true BA/SH list that has won us numerous events, or do we roll the dice and branch out? I’ve got a wicked Necron list that could compliment JB’s intended BA list VERY well, blending the best of both of them for as much OP as we can fit in.

Either way, are YOU going to be at the Conflict GT? Plenty of time to hang out even if we don’t face off on the tables, and if this would be your first tournament and you are worried that you don’t know anybody, relax- you know JB and myself so make it happen!

Make your decision now…
