I would love to face some DE they should be a lot of fun to play against nice and hard just like Saim Hann.
I've always noticed that fast armies are the hardest enemy for me. Tau move allmoust as fast and shoot better, DE are just as fast and a lot harder in CC. Orks can do the same as I found out agaisnt my first game against nob Bikers.
Cheers CJ
I know what you mean! I think DE are one of the cooler armies out there, unfortunately their model range is pretty weak. the jetbikes are cool though...
Fritz,
At our store we have a 'build an army' project everyone got involved in; the catch was you rolled randomly. It's been a great experience thus far, with people building armies they would not normally be interested in.
And fighting a Dark Eldar army is simply awesome. Here's the link for my buddy's blog - obviously he's just started, but he's had some great ideas for updating the look.
All that said, aren't they too similar to the army you play most often?

Kind of the same with crap skimmer and bikes, but being able to assault out of the skimmers and having tooled up assault squads- 1st turn assault is SICK!
Dark Eldar were acutally my first choice of army because of my love for drows and dark elves but there codex is just dreadfull when a new one comes out i plan on being all over it.but thats probly not going to happen unless I get a job at Gw and right it myself lol.I may do a Drow elf themed eldar army in the future after my slaanesh army
From what I've picked up of your local club make up Fritz, they'd probably do amazingly well. I run a Dark Eldar army and have for some time, and I find they do better against the more elite lists. Marines/Chaos/Nidzilla.
I almost have to sigh when I see anyone running a Deathguard based army, thus far I've yet to see any thing that resembles a competative turn 3 or 4 vs them, just too many high Str AP 2 weapons to shoot with, and Agonizers don't care if your toughness is eleventy billion.
Dark Eldar are a pain to beat. I think they are one of the best armies currently (played by the right person of course).
I think they're one of the most brutal armies. They're brutal to face with the sheer number of Lances they bring (...until I saw one play a 5-6 LR Black Templar List full of Blessed Hulls...).
Of course, AV11 on your heavy gunship tank makes the army abjectly unforgiving. "Whoops. Measured wrong. GAME OVER IN FIERY CRASH OF DEATH!"
My beef is with the age of the codex; you have very limited options and it's unlikely to get updated.
Lucas and Raptor do you play Necrons or something otherwise you really shouldn't have any trouble with the dark eldar if you know what you are doing ;). sure they are fast but with AV 10 around it's not long before the skimmers hit the dirt!
Cheers CJ
I have a 22 jetbike Dark Eldar list that is absolutely disgusting. I am 10/0 so far and am actually switching it to my main, full time army.
