As I continue my quest for glory with my Saim-Hann I have brought another club mate over to the ways of the Eldar. He’s decided to go with a pure Iyanden force of wraith guard, 3 wraith lords, pathfinders, and a jetbike farseer. Can 3 wraith lords be as “cheesy” as all holo-fielded vypers? Fellow Eldar players what do you consider a broken Eldar list?

Falcons are broken. They cannot be shot down, period.
40K at our club has turned into VP denial. If I field 3 Falcons with extra stuff, put Scorpions / Fire Dragons in my falcons, hide some Rangers, have a Farseer and an Autarch flying around on Jetbikes, Seer Council + Fortune.... Eldar armies simply cannot be destroyed.
Replace Falcons with Wraithlords on smaller point value games and then they become unstoppable as well. At 2000 points Wraithlords are much easier to take out. Around 1000 points your enemies don't have nearly as many heavy weapons to bear on them.
If your friend is playing a pure Iyanden force then he should have a seer council not a farseer on jet bike. thats just being a power player and no-one likes them.
He should have:
Seer council, Wraithguard, guardians, wraithlords and as many spirit seers as possible to make it fluffy.
Remember Wraithguard can be troops so......

Heavy support 1,2+3
3x Wraithlords w/wraithsword and a long range weapon of some sorts. I'd go for either a brightlance or Eldar missile launcher.
mmmm tasty. 5th edition rules that army will be sick and so wrong.
This army is expensive to buy so if you're doing it call up the order number at your local store I'm pretty sure they still do a really nice deal for wraith guard, wraith lord and warlock. its saves you something like £40/£45. though I'm not sure thats all the contents might be more....
as always I'm happy to help ^_^
Grieva, thanks I am going to print your list and pass it on to my friend. He has the farseer on the jetbike after watching and plating my Saim-Hann and the annoyance of jetting out and mindwaring your opponent before jetting back. It is for the power play factor.
Heya Fred, haven't been around in a whle but I still drop in to see how your Saim-Hann have evolved. Good reads and all.
First, the jetbike FarSeer is a bad idea for the Wraithguard list. What makes Iyanden step from "tough" to "sick & wrong" is Fortune. A foot-based FortuneSeer is a must for each Wraithguard squad. Wraithguard are rarely going to kill their points, but they're an excellent bait unit that will pin the enemy in place so that you can charge them.
I really like the use of Harlequins and Shining Spears with a Wraithguard core. Harlequins can hang out 10" or so behind the Wraithguard lines or behind nearby cover, relying on Veil of Tears to keep them out of range from most opponents whilst Fleet and Flip Belts to get into a counter-assault. Shining Spears, well, you know how they work.
Next, don't bother with a Wraithsword. The Wraithlord just doesn't have enough attacks in the first place. They should really only be used in CC to smack enemy tanks and Walkers. However, they have a BS4. They're much better off as a fire-platform. Given the Iyanden ability to shrug off light fire, but their short range, I'd run Wraithlords in an anti-tank EML/BL mode.
As much as I love the model and hate to say this... the Wraithlord is really better off supporting a Guardian army as opposed to a Wraithguard. A pure Iyanden needs to get in a little more mobility.
My 1750 is currently looking:
Farseer w Fortune, Runes of Warding
Farseer w Fortune
2x 10 Wraithguard w Spiritseer w Conceal
10 Harlequins w 9 Kisses, Shadowseer, Troupe Master w P.Sword
5 Shining Spears w Exarch w Star Lance and Withdraw
Fire Prism w Holofield
Fire Prism
I'm currently toying around with a variant that drops a Wraithguard squad and Farseer to take two squads of Dire Avengers and a Wraithlord. We'll see how that goes.
There's also the tournie-broken version that drops a squad of Wraithguard and both Farseers to take three squads of Guardian Jetbikers, Eldrad, and an Avatar. But that's not going out as much these days as it's really not Fluffy nor fun.
